General

Staff from your airline can travel on GZ flights operated by Air Rarotonga between the following Airports: Rarotonga, Aitutaki, Atiu, Mitiaro, Mauke, Mangaia and Papeete.

Economy is the only class operated by Air Rarotonga.

Seats are assigned at checkin.

Pre-paid extra baggage is not available and normal excess rates apply, 1 piece 23 kgs is included per ADT and CHD passenger on all ZED fares. For flights to Atiu, Mitiaro, Mauke and Mangaia, travelling light may increase your chances of uplift due to weight and balance requirements.

Infants do not have a separate baggage allowance. An infant and/or child is permitted to carry a stroller and/or car seat free of charge but these may need to be loaded in the aircraft hold.

Standby travel is popular on Air Rarotonga. If you need certainty for your travel, it is recommended you purchase a commercial fare on our web site airraro.com

Booking / Listing

Please make sure you select GZ (Air Rarotonga) as Airline on the flight search screen - if you choose 'All Airlines (your own GDS)' you may not be able to book and in the case of Sabre may only see some of our flights as we do not distribute all flights on the GDS.

Please book flights between Rarotonga (RAR) and Tahiti (PPT) at least 48 hours in advance as these are GZ seat blocks on flights operated and checked in by another Airline. Please also note that unless you are a Cook islands resident you will need to show proof of a return ticket at check in.

Please ensure you allow for minimum connection times, generally 2 hours for international to domestic and vice versa.

Value added Tax (GST) on domestic Cook Islands fares:

VAT is payable for domestic flights. myIDTravel includes VAT in the ‘Total Government Taxes’, not in the ‘Fare’, and rounds VAT to the nearest 1 decimal place in NZD.

You will automatically receive an eTicket itinerary receipt by email. Your confirmation number and ID document are sufficient for check in.

Changes

-          Changes to date and/or time only are permitted and must be done in myIDTravel - Rarotonga and Aitutaki Airport offer Wifi services to facilitate this. Use the Rebook button to do this. Our ground staff is able to reaccommodate you onto the next available flight with seats if your booked flight is full. Please try to use Rebook before you cancel and book anew.

-          To change a route you must first cancel and refund (this is two separate steps) and then make a new booking. It may be possible for instance to book AIT-AIU and then AIU-RAR if direct AIT-RAR flights are full.

Refunds

-          Due to a system restriction myID cancellations currently refund to a voucher. Please fill out the form at http://myidrefunds.airraro.com so we can refund the voucher back to yoru credit card. We apologise for the inconvenience while we work with our system integrator to have this fixed.

Manual full refund requests (i.e. unable to cancel on line before flight departure) will be processed within 5 working days. Please endeavour to cancel your flight before flight departure as GZ is a ticketless carrier.

-          Partial Refund requests will be processed manually and may take up to four weeks. The myIDTravel fee is not refundable for partially used tickets.

-          A ticket is considered "expired" after one year from date of issue. After a year, the ticket has no value and is not eligible to be reissued or refunded.

-          You can request refunds after flight departure using this form.

-          If contacting Air Rarotonga Refunds for assistance, please provide your airline code, employee ID, name and booking reference(s) (PNR).
