 Flight listing policy and procedures

  • Spirit listings issued via myIDTravel or ID90 are ticketless. You will not receive a ticket number for the reservation. Once the listed is generated, you will automatically receive a confirmation and itinerary receipt via e-mail

  • Valid government-issued identification
  • Persons travelling to and from the United States are required to present a valid passport. Citizens of countries other should contact their consulate or embassy for boarding requirements

Baggage Allowance

  • Spirit allows one (1) free checked bag plus one (1) free carryon at no charge for each non-revenue traveler. Maximum weight is 40 pounds and maximum size is 62 inches (length + width + height) per checked piece of luggage.Additional bags may be purchased on spirit.com under Manage Travel
  • Size, weight, and baggage embargo limitations apply, visit spirit.com Optional Services for more information. oversized items in excess of 62 inches but not more than 80 inches (e.g.; surfboards, bicycles, vaulting poles) will be accepted for a charge of regular baggage allowance in chart available on www.spirit.com

Dress Code

When traveling on Spirit, we welcome casual dress attire.

Acceptable attire

  • Shirts with sleeves and collars, t-shirts
  • Jeans/denims
  • Dress slacks
  • Skirts and dresses
  • Jogging suits
  • Dress shoes, open-toed shoes, sneakers and sandals

Not Acceptable

  • Torn, ragged, slashed, dirty, frayed, low cut, skimpy, or revealing
  • Offensive or sexually oriented inscriptions or messages
  • Halter/tube/midriff tops
  • Beach or swim wear
  • Flip flop/shoes that are dirty, stained or worn

Uncompanied Minors

  • Space available customer between the ages of 5-14 traveling without anyone 15yrs or older may travel as an unaccompanied minor
  • The unaccompanied minor service charge of a $100 each way applies paid at the Airport or via Reservations
  • Travel on domestic non-stop or thru domestic flights only (includes Puerto Rico and U.S.V.I) that do not involve a scheduled change of aircraft (i.e., connecting flights or change-of-gauge flights)
  • Unaccompanied minors are not accepted for travel on Spirit for travel to any international destinations
  • The unaccompanied minor must be brought to the airport by a parent or other responsible adult who must furnish Spirit with the name and phone number of the parent or other responsible adult who will meet the child upon deplaning at the destination point
  • The adult dropping off the unaccompanied minor must present a valid driver’s license or other type of government issued photo ID for verification and documentation

Check-in

  • Check-in process: Check in online at spirit.com within 24 hours of your flight or at an airport kiosk using your PNR (Confirmation number)
  • Infant/lap child travel cannot be processed online. Please contact Spirit’s Reservations Center or see an agent at the airport ticket counter during check-in

  • Boarding priority for other airline travelers is determined by time of check-in
