Air Astana JSC, KC – Staff Travel / ZED Information
General
- Staff travel concessions are provided only for personal, non-business travel.
- Travel is always space available and not guaranteed. Staff must be prepared to buy a commercial ticket if they must travel on a specific flight/date.
- This policy applies to travel on Air Astana and FlyArystan operated flights.
Eligibility
- Travel is allowed only for eligible employees and their registered beneficiaries as defined in the employee’s home airline policy and the relevant ZED / interline agreement.
- Travellers are fully responsible for all passports, visas, health and immigration requirements, accommodation, surface transport and other personal arrangements.
Booking / Ticketing
- ZED and other rebate tickets on Air Astana should be booked and issued via the myIDTravel or other agreed staff-travel platform, in accordance with the traveller’s own airline rules.
- Tickets are standby / subload unless issued as confirmed in line with the applicable agreement.
- Any changes, re-routing or replacement by commercial tickets are at the traveller’s own expense.
Check-in & Airport
- Staff travellers are not through-checked on separate tickets. Each flight/sector must be checked in separately and sufficient connecting time should be allowed.
- Staff travellers must follow all instructions given by Ground staff, Security and Cabin Crew, including any seat or cabin changes, or in rare cases, off-loading.
- Travellers should not draw attention to themselves as staff passengers and must avoid any behaviour that may inconvenience revenue passengers.
Cabin, Seating, Upgrades & Lounges
- Seating is assigned at check-in or at the gate; specific seat pre-allocation is not guaranteed.
- Upgrades are not permitted for passengers holding an economy class rebate ticket.
- Staff travelling on personal rebate tickets (confirmed or standby) are not eligible for airport business lounge access, including Air Astana’s own lounges, unless explicitly stated in the applicable agreement.
- When travelling in Business Class, staff will be served after revenue passengers, and choice of meal may be limited.
Baggage
- Staff travellers and their beneficiaries are entitled to the same free baggage allowance as revenue passengers for the class of service shown on the ticket. (Economy class 1PC each 23kg, Business class 2PC each 32kg)
- Excess baggage is charged at normal commercial rates.
- Lost, delayed or damaged baggage is handled according to Air Astana/FlyArystan’s general conditions of carriage; compensation may be limited.
Dress Code
Staff and their beneficiaries must be neatly and appropriately dressed and reflect the airline’s professional image. The following items are not permitted when travelling on rebate tickets (on duty or off duty):
- Tracksuits
- Jeans with holes or excessively worn / loose jeans exposing back or stomach
- Short singlets / tops exposing shoulders or midriff
- Skirts or shorts more than 20 cm above the knee, gauzy hose or leggings
- Low-cut or see-through dresses and blouses
- Flip-flops
- Clothing with offensive or questionable graphics
- Excessive use of perfume or cosmetics
Failure to comply with the dress code may result in denied boarding.
Identification & Loyalty Programme
- Employees must carry a valid staff ID card; beneficiaries must carry a colour copy of the employee’s ID if required by the airline.
- Staff travelling on rebate tickets must not add any frequent-flyer / Nomad Club number to their booking and are not eligible for mileage accrual.
Misuse of Staff Travel
- Any misuse, fraud, falsification of documents, or
breachof staff-travel rules (including passing tickets to
unauthorised persons, creating fictitious bookings, or incorrect
declaration of beneficiaries) may result in:
- immediate withdrawal of staff-travel privileges, temporarily or permanently, for the employee and all beneficiaries; and
- possible disciplinary action by the employing airline.
Travellers are responsible for ensuring they understand and comply with both Air Astana’s rules and their own airline’s staff-travel policy.
