Flight listing policy and procedures
- Flight listing is required for all JL International flights 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time through myIDTravel.
- Flight Listing for Japan Domestic flights is NOT mandatory.
- If you have any trouble while making a listing through myIDTravel, request for it on local contact center.
- Even if your airline does not implement myIDTravel, you can still log in to myIDTravel as a Generic User; please check with your airline for your ID and Password as a Generic User.
Flights included
- International flights: JL Flights operated by JL
- Domestic flights: JL Flights operated by JL, XM(J-AIR), NU(Japan Transocean Air), JC(Japan Air Commuter), or HC(Hokkaido Air System). Depends on the concurrence, NU (Japan Transoceanair) flights are also included.
Flights excluded
- International flights: All codeshare flights not operated by JL
- Domestic flights: RAC flights (RYUKYU AIR COMMUTER), codeshare flights with JH(Fuji Dream Airlines), GK(Jetstar Japan), MZ(Amakusa Airlines), and OC(Oriental Air Bridge).
- Chartered flights: All charterd flights are not accepted.
Check-in
- General
You cannot check-in the whole itinerary at once. You can check-in at the departing airport of the flight you are getting on board. If you have connection flights, the connection flights' check-in are done at each departing airport.
- International flights
Check-in starts basically 3 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure, and be at the boarding gate 40 minutes prior to the scheduled time.
-International flights departing from Narita International Airport
Please check in after 10:30 am if your flight is departing after STD16:00.
-International flights departing from Haneda Tokyo International Airport
Please check in after 10:30 am if your flight is departing after STD13:30.
-JL727(KIX/BKK)
Please be advised that even if the seats of the JL727(KIX/BKK) are available, there are some cases
that staff travellers may be rejected to check-in because of the meal order time limit.
The staff travellers on JL727(KIX/BKK) should check in by 1 hour prior to the scheduled time of departure. - Japan domestic flights
Check-in starts basically 1 hour prior to the scheduled time of departure, and be at the boarding gate 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time.
Baggage
Checked baggage
- Same baggage rules apply as for revenue economy class passengers. Please see www.jal.com for detailed information.
- International flights departing from Haneda Tokyo Internationa Airport, checked baggage will be accepted only 6 hours prior to departure time.
Cabin baggage
- Same baggage rules apply as for revenue economy class passengers. Please see www.jal.com for detailed information.
Dress code
- Passengers using personal travel on JL are advised to be well groomed, wear neat, clean attire, conservative and in good taste.
Special service requests
- Passengers with staff tickets on JL flights are not eligible for any oneworld tier services (such as priority services, lounge access, etc.) even if the passengers own oneworld tier status.
Seat requests
- Advance reservation of a specific seat is not allowed.
- Infants safety seats are not provided.
Unaccompanied minors
- Japan Airlines will not accept unaccampanied children younger than 16 years old.
Special meals
- Special meals are not available. If you have specific dietary needs or preferences, you should carry on board your own provisions.
Upgrade policy
- Personal travel passengers are not allowed to request for upgrade.
