IMPORTANT INFORMATION 

  • Starting April 22, 2026, ZED tickets for all flights operated by Hawaiian Airlines must be purchased exclusively through Alaska Airlines. Although the aircraft will continue to display Hawaiian Airlines branding, ZED tickets purchased via the Alaska Airlines ID90/myIDTravel sites will be requried. 
  • Due to the Passenger Service System (PSS) transition related to the Hawaiian Airlines merger on April 22, 2026, employees are advised to avoid ZED travel from April 20 to 24 due to potential issues with check-in or onboarding flights during system changes.

  • Travel is valid on flights operated by Alaska Airlines and flights operated by Horizon Air and Skywest marketed/sold as Alaska Airline flights.

Infant Ticketing 

  • Infant tickets are not required for  travel within the United States. For travel to/from Mexico, Canada, Bahamas, Belize, Guatemala and Costa Rica, please see a Customer Service Agent at any Alaska Airlines ticket counter for infant ticketing. We cannot accept infant etickets from other airlines.

Visas and Passports and API

  • All travelers must present government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport. Whenever you travel as a non-revenue passenger you will need to present your employee photo ID badge at check-in.  Dependents age 16 and over, will need to provide government photo ID such as a driver's license or passport. 
  • For travel to destinations outside of the USA, proof of citizenship is required for every traveler. A passport and in some cases a VISA may be required for international destinations.

Embargoes

Checked baggage

  • Other airline employees will not be charged for the first two checked bags. However, non-revs must pay all excess and overweight charges.  Check our website for the lastest size and weight restrictions. Baggage policies - Alaska Airlines Baggage charges can be paid at the ticket counter.

Cabin baggage

  • Check our website for the latest size restrictions Baggage policies - Alaska Airlines. You'll still be allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item such as a purse, briefcase, or laptop bag. To help make the boarding process as smooth as possible for everyone, make sure that your items are within the size limits described on the website, so they'll fit into the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.
  • Note: Every effort will be made to accommodate your carry-on in the passenger cabin. Acceptance of carry-on baggage is subject to space availability on the aircraft at the time you board. In the event adequate space is not available, your carry-on bag may be checked for no charge to baggage claim at your final destination.

Changes/Refunds

  • Changes or refund request must be requested through the tool the ticket was issued through (ID90 Travel or myIDTravel)
  • If you choose to sit in economy class if first/business class is full, there is no refund given on the difference between economy class and first/business class e-tickets.
  • Be sure to refund any outstanding ZED tickets purchased on Hawaiian Airlines via ID90 or myIDTravel before April 22, 2026. ZED tickets purchased via the Hawaiian Airlines ticket system will no longer be valid for travel and new tickets would need to be purchased via the Alaska Airlines ID90/myIDTravel site.

Check-in

Check-in deadlines

    • All passengers: Check- in must be completed at least 50 minutes prior to departure.
    • Pilot Jumpseat: Continue checking in with gate agents 1 hour before departure (no changes)

 Employees who list online, can check-in via the web at alaskaair.com, at an airport kiosk location or with a ticket counter agent. 

Check-in times

  • After check-in, your name is put on the standby list. Standby travelers must be checked in and available to board at the designated boarding gate at least 50 minutes before posted departure for all flights. If a seat is available, your electronic boarding pass will be updated or your name we be called at the gate.

Dress code

  • The dress code on both Alaska and Horizon is casual and the requirement is simply a neat and well groomed appearance. Clothing that is soiled or tattered and bare feet are never acceptable.
  •  Employees and travel eligibles are expected to use their own good judgement but customer service agents will have the final authority to refuse travel for inappropriate attire or appearance.

Special service requests

Pets

  • The Animal in Hold (AVIH) and Pet in Cabin (PETC) fees are charged to other airline non-revenue travelers. 
  • Passengers must be at least 18 years old to travel with a Pet in Cabin. 
  • Check AlaskaAir.com for requirements traveling with pets. 
  • Pets must be listed in advance by calling Reservations at 1-877-677- 2566 to see if there is space available for your pet on a flight. When it’s less than 24 hours before departure, call reservations with you confirmation code to confirm your pet, for both animal in hold (AVID) and Pet in Cabin (PETC).  Pets will be tagged standby.  When non-rev passengers clear the flight, the animal will also be cleared.
  • Traveling with a service/emotional support animal. You must follow the requirements of the Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air policy. Check AlaskaAir.com for requirements.
  • NOTE: Travelers may not use their travel privileges to transport animals for a pet shelter or another business.

Second Seat Policy

  • The requirement of being able to fit within one seat with the armrests in the down position will apply to every passenger on our aircraft including non-revenue passengers. However, our non-revenue passengers will not be required to purchase an additional seat. All non-revenue passengers are required to advise the gate agent of their need for a second seat at the gate. If they do, the second seat will be blocked based on their boarding priority code. Since other airline travelers are not charged for the second seat, a courtesy block will be used on the adjacent seat.

Meals 

  • Our meal service has been changed to a pre-ordering option for confirmed space travelers. Pre-ordering meals are not allowed for stand-by leisure or space available duty travel at this time. We do have snacks available for purchase.

Seat requests

  • In all instances, standby passengers should sit in their assigned seat and not request that other passengers relocate for your convenience. There is a possible chance that you and your party may be separated on the plane, so either prepare for this or take another flight that would better accommodate your needs.

Infant safety seats

  • Lap infants sharing a seat with their parent may bring a child restraint seat on board provided there is an empty seat available for the infant. If the flight is full, the car seat will be checked at the gate using a claim-at-gate tag. The car seat will be returned to you at the gate upon arrival. All car seats must be FAA approved for aircraft use.
  • Lap infant ticketing will be requires for both domestic and international travel by April 22, 2026. 

Unaccompanied minors

Children under the age of 12 may not travel alone on Alaska, Horizon or Skywest and must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older.

  • Under 16 years not permitted to travel alone on a ZED ticket.

  • Because all non-revenue pleasure travel is "standby", flexibility is key. Know what different flight options you have to get you to your destination will help you plan for sudden changes such as full flights, flight cancellations, and delays. One idea is to print out your options and take them with you.
