General Information:

Pacific Coastal Airlines provides regular scheduled service to 15 airport destinations in British Columbia, Canada. We are the sixth largest airline operating at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) based on total outbound seats, and third largest based on take offs and landings. We are based out of the Vancouver International Airport’s South Terminal and operate a mixed fleet of Saab 340s and Beechcraft 1900s.

Flight Listing Policy and Procedure:

Travel on Pacific Coastal Airlines is ticketless. Currently we are not able to offer listing through myIDTravel. However employees of other airlines may contact the Pacific Coastal Airlines Employee Travel department to make a standby listing at least 2 business days prior to travel. You may provide travel information up front or request a form to complete and email or fax back. Travel information needed includes routing, traveler(s) information (including relationship to employee, and date of birth if child under 24), and employee information (date of hire, employee number, employing airline, and contact information). All travel requests must come from your company airline email address.

Submit a snapshot or photo of your myIDTravel eligible “Traveller Selection” page to employeetravel@pacificcoastal.com to verify the eligible persons for the requested flights. If you anticipate making multiple bookings on Pacific Coastal Airlines, you may request that we keep your eligible traveler information on file to speed up subsequent bookings.

Listings will be processed and an itinerary/reservation number will be emailed to the email provided once the booking is complete.

Payment will be processed at the time of check-in, once the seat has been confirmed. Pacific Coastal Airlines accepts all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), debit card, and cash.

Our office is open 0830-1630 PST, Monday to Friday and is closed on Canadian Statutory Holidays.

Fares

Pacific Coastal Airlines’ base fares comply with the ZED/MIBA Interline Staff Travel Agreement (ISTA). Additionally, employees will be responsible to pay any applicable fees includes: taxes, airport improvement fees, security processing fees, NAV Canada fees, etc.

Check-In Times:

Pacific Coastal Airlines operates from the SOUTH TERMINAL of the Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Guests should check-in 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time with appropriate government issued photo-identification.

**Please note that your payment will be processed at the time of Check-In, once a seat has been confirmed on the aircraft.**

Dress Code:

Overall appearance while traveling standby on all Pacific Coastal flights must be well-groomed, clean and in good taste. Customer Service Agents retain the right to refuse boarding.

Acceptable Attire:
  • Smart casual attire
  • Clean and well-kept denim attire such as jeans
  • Shorts that are no more than three inches above the knee, such as Bermuda or walking shorts.
  • Athletic shoes are acceptable provided they are clean and in good condition
Unacceptable Attire:
  • Clothing that is inappropriately revealing, for example attire revealing a midriff or an extremely low cut shirt
  • Miniskirts
  • Exercise wear, such as sweatpants, jogging pants, lycra/spandex clothing
  • Beach-type rubber flip-flops, slippers, moccasins, work boots
  • Attire that is designated as sleepwear, undergarments or swimwear
  • Clothing with holes, tears, or stains
  • Clothing with offensive and/or derogatory terminology or graphics

Changes/Cancellations:

If travel plans change or are cancelled, please email employeetravel@pacificcoastal.com or call 1-604-214-2358 dial 7, ext. 2358 with the changes you are requesting and your reservation number, at least 24 hours before your scheduled departure.

Reservations are valid for 1 year from the original date of issue. Changes can be made free of charge for travel within 1 year of the original date of issue.

Wilderness Seaplanes:

Wilderness Seaplanes is wholly-owned by Pacific Coastal Airlines and operates seaplane service to more than fifty coastal and fishing communities from bases in Port Hardy, BC on Vancouver Island and Bella Bella in British Columbia’s central coast. Stand-by travel is available on scheduled routes only.

Eligibility:

  • Other Airline Employees who have agreements with Pacific Coastal Airlines.
  • Registered family members and buddies are eligible only if accompanied by the employee.

Booking/Listing Procedures:

All stand-by travel bookings must be made by the employee. Registered family members and buddies are not permitted to make their own bookings. To book their journey, employees must call Wilderness Seaplanes directlyat 1-250-949-6353 or 1-800-343-5963. The booking must be made at least 24 hours in advance. No last minute bookings are accepted.

Employees must advise the customer service agent that they are an employee of another airline and would like to make a stand-bybooking. Employees will be asked for proof of employment when they check-in. Examples of proof of employment include airline ID, letter from employer, paystub, etc. When the booking is complete, the agent will provide the employee with a reservation number and will email an itinerary if the employee requests one.

** For any flights returning to the departure base, there must be at least 2 extra open seats for the return in addition to the space available seat for the person travelling. This is to facilitate any last minute pickups or extra freight on the way back. **

Rates for Scheduled Flights:

Cost per one way or round trip, returning on the same day:

  • $20 CAD + GST for staff
  • $50 CAD + GST for Family Members / Buddies travelling with the staff member. No Family or Buddies may travel alone.

Cost per one way/ round trip if returning on a later date:

  • $20 CAD + GST Each way for staff
  • $50 CAD + GST Each way for Family Member/Buddies traveling with the staff member. No Family or Buddies may travel alone.

**Payment for bookings will be collected in full, at the check in counter once availability has been confirmed. All airport check-in counters accept the following mode of payments: Cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Debit Card. **
